Protecting women and Children from Abuse is A Community Responsibility
What is child abuse?
What is Child Abuse: The law places responsibility on the individual who did something to cause harm to or endanger a child either:
Intentionally: Done with the direct purpose of causing the type of harm that resulted.
Knowingly: Understanding that the harm is “ Practically certain to result” in negative consequences.
Recklessly: Conscious disregard for foreseeable risk
What is sexual abuse?
Sexual Abuse: Is causing a child to engage in or to assist another individual to engage in sexually explicit conduct as well as conversation. Sexual abuse is also the production of pornographic material with the child…although the child is not touched, it is still a violation of the child’s right.
